Review by hotel critic
As a seasoned travel writer and beer enthusiast, my recent one-night stay at this lovely Izu hostel offered a curious blend of comfort and value. Upon arrival, Ryuhei greeted me warmly, setting the tone for a welcoming experience. While the hostel features both male and female dormitories on the second floor, I found the layout quite discreet, ensuring privacy for everyone. The shared kitchen was impressively equipped—ideal for whipping up some late-night noodles after exploring local eateries suggested by Ryuhei. A notable highlight was the free coffee and tea available, a thoughtful touch for weary travelers. The room itself was comfortable; I slept soundly thanks to quality bedding, although a controlled air conditioning setup meant I had to rely on staff which could raise questions on heating management. Facilities like the lounge and foot bath just a short walk away offered a nice touch of relaxation in this quaint town. The pricing aligns seamlessly with the amenities provided, striking a fine balance between luxury and budget. It’s a smart choice for those seeking an authentic Japanese experience without breaking the bank. A return visit is certainly on my cards.
